Comfortable Talking About The Uncomfortable
Why do we so often ask people what they do or how they have been doing, but not where they want to go?I think the much more important questions to ask are where are you headed in life, what do you want to do next, what would you like to do more of? Maybe its because for a lot of us those can be hard to answer or articulate in words, or maybe it's just because of the social rules of conversation. We need to be more comfortable talking about the future, our future, and not just what we have been doing. What do you want to do next? How do you want to live? What do you want to try, what makes you grow? What makes you feel most alive? How do you want to have an impact in the world? The more we get comfortable talking about the uncommon or uncomfortable questions, the more meaningful our conversations will be.
